Our treatments
From a basic infertility work-up to advanced IVF-ICSI, IMSI and fertility preservation — explained simply, planned personally.
In vitro fertilisation — eggs and sperm are brought together in the lab and the best embryo is transferred to…
A single healthy sperm is injected directly into each mature egg — especially helpful for male-factor infertility.
Washed, concentrated sperm are placed directly into the uterus around ovulation — a simple, first-line fertility treatment.
Sperm are examined at very high magnification so embryologists can choose the best-shaped sperm for ICSI.
Embryos are cultured for five days so the most developed can be transferred — often allowing a single-embryo transfer.
A precise laser opening in the embryo’s outer shell (zona pellucida) that may help implantation in selected cases.
Eggs from a screened donor are fertilised with the partner’s sperm — an option when a woman’s own eggs cannot…
Freezing eggs, sperm or embryos for the future — before cancer treatment or when you wish to plan parenthood later.
Diagnosis and treatment of low sperm count, azoospermia and other male-factor problems — including surgical sperm retrieval.
How IVF works
Knowing what happens next makes every step easier. Here is how a typical IVF cycle at Ridge IVF unfolds.
Meet your doctor, review history and reports, and complete a focused fertility work-up for both partners.
Daily hormone injections for around 10–12 days, with scans to track follicle growth.
A short day-care procedure under anaesthesia; eggs are fertilised by IVF or ICSI in our lab.
Embryos grow for 3–5 days in controlled incubators; our embryologists select the best to transfer.
A painless procedure that places the embryo in the uterus. Extra good-quality embryos can be frozen.
A blood test about two weeks later — with counselling and support whatever the result.

FAQs
Clear answers to common questions. Ask our team anything else — there is no such thing as a silly question.
If you are under 35 and have not conceived after 12 months of regular unprotected intercourse — or after 6 months if you are 35 or older — it is a good time to consult. See a specialist sooner if periods are irregular, there is known endometriosis, PCOS, previous pelvic surgery, or a known male-factor problem.
In IUI, prepared sperm are placed inside the uterus and fertilisation happens naturally inside the body. In IVF, eggs are collected and fertilised with sperm in the laboratory, and the resulting embryo is transferred to the uterus. Your doctor will suggest which is suitable based on tests of both partners.
About four to six weeks from the start of ovarian stimulation to the pregnancy test. The injection phase is usually 10–12 days, egg collection is a day-care procedure, and embryo transfer follows 3–5 days later.
No. No clinic can guarantee a pregnancy or live birth. The chance of success depends on age, egg and sperm quality, the cause of infertility and the health of the uterus. Your doctor will discuss realistic expectations for your situation.
No. A male factor contributes in a large share of couples. That is why we test both partners from the start — a simple semen analysis is one of the first investigations.
The cost depends on the treatment plan, medicines and any additional lab procedures you need. We explain the complete package clearly before treatment starts, with no hidden costs, and zero-cost EMI options are available. Call or book a consultation for an estimate for your case.
Yes. Egg freezing is an option for women who wish to delay pregnancy or who need treatment such as chemotherapy that may affect fertility. Eggs frozen at a younger age generally have a better chance of success later.
Ridge IVF is part of the Gouri Hospital group, which has treated infertility since 1979 and offered IVF since 1992. The programme is led by Dr. M. Gouri Devi, a past President of the Indian Fertility Society, with fellowship-trained consultants, in-house embryology and andrology, and three centres in Jawahar Nagar, Shalimar Bagh and Burari. You can meet our IVF specialists or read our checklist for choosing a fertility clinic.
Look for a reproductive medicine specialist with dedicated training such as an FNB fellowship or an MCh, a laboratory that explains its methods openly, and a doctor who gives you realistic, personalised advice rather than headline success rates. Both partners should be assessed from the first visit. Our guide on how to choose an IVF consultant lists the questions worth asking.
In ICSI treatment an embryologist injects a single selected sperm into each mature egg, instead of placing eggs and sperm together in a dish. It is mainly advised for male-factor infertility, very low sperm counts, surgically retrieved sperm or previous fertilisation failure. For the woman, the IVF cycle is exactly the same. Read more in ICSI vs IVF: when is it needed?
In blastocyst transfer embryos are grown in the laboratory for five to six days before transfer, the stage at which an embryo naturally reaches the uterus. Extended culture helps the embryologist choose the embryo with the best potential and makes single-embryo transfer easier. It is not right for everyone; your doctor decides based on how many embryos are developing. See blastocyst vs day 3 transfer.
Yes, within the rules of two 2021 laws. Under the ART (Regulation) Act, egg donation must be anonymous, arranged through a registered ART bank and never paid for. Under the Surrogacy (Regulation) Act, only altruistic surrogacy is allowed, for legally married Indian couples with a certified medical need, and for widowed or divorced Indian women aged 35 to 45. Details: egg donation rules and who is eligible for surrogacy.
Pre-implantation genetic testing checks a few cells from each embryo before transfer. PGT-M or PGT-SR (earlier called PGD) looks for a specific genetic condition or chromosomal rearrangement known in the family; PGT-A (earlier PGS) screens for an abnormal number of chromosomes. Testing is arranged with an accredited genetics laboratory, and sex selection is prohibited by law. Read who needs PGD and PGS.
